This site is mainly dedicated to the Thermoptim project which stems from our will to propose a new pedagogical approach to applied thermodynamics by the means of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) applied to education.

This new pedagogic approach allows us to overcome the difficulties presented by a classical teaching of thermodynamics, our objective being to train today's scientists and engineers in such a way that they may meet the energy challenges of the future.

Instead of beginning with mathematical abstraction, we emphasize an inductive approach grounded in technological reality and simulation. This method, supported by cognitive science research, reduces cognitive load so that learners can focus on system intelligence (architecture, physical understanding, optimization).

One method, three learning paths

Whether you are a beginner or an expert, our resources are now tailored to your level through three pedagogical modes:

  • Light Mode: to understand and diagnose (visual, without complex equations);

  • Progressive Mode: to size and design (gradual introduction of advanced concepts);

  • In-depth Mode: to innovate and carry out detailed modeling (full theoretical mastery).
